We met in the fall of 2006 at Northern Michigan University. We started dating in the late fall of 2009. We have a great group of friends from Northern and made a lot of great memories together at college. After graduating in 2010, I (Ben) moved to St. Charles, IL (west of Chicago). Carrie joined me there in the winter of 2010/11 to complete her student teaching at a local elementary school. I took a new job in a different town in January 2011.
I asked Carrie to marry me on March 26th, 2011. Carrie worked that day, and I told her we were going out for dinner that night. I surprised her with a detour to downtown Chicago. We waited in line (3.5 hours!), and took the elevator to the top of the Sears (Willis) Tower. There I surprised her again with a ring and the question of a lifetime - Will You Marry Me?
We moved to Wheaton, IL to be closer to my new job in the spring. There we adopted our Dog, Gailee the Treeing Walker Coonhound. In the fall off 2011, Carrie was hired to teach Middle school in her hometown of Wausaukee, WI and moved back home. I decided it was time to move out of Illinois and joined Carrie in Wausaukee a few months later. We can't wait to be married in March.
